PANORAMA EDUCATION ICON SYSTEM
I drew icons and redesigned the web layout for Panorama Education. These icons were designed to look friendly to teachers and school administrators, and to feel cohesiveness with the rest of the platform. I worked with UX designed Roger Zhu on this project.
The full suite of icons include districts, schools, students, course sections, departments, teachers, employee groups, and organization groups. The black outlines appear upon hover. The most challenging icon to design for was “Organization Groups.” We settled on an array of different building icons.
Since the icons had to be recognizable and visually compelling at large and small scale, I designed a mini version of each icon.
The previous icons were of varying color and line weight. We made a comprehensive inventory of all icons, to find which ones we needed to update.
With this new visual language, I also updated the illustrations for Social Emotion Learning concepts on Panorama’s site.
Early exploration for the icons included bright colors and strong geometry.
